Rizhao shuts down 18 plastic pellet processing plants

The centralized cleaning of 18 plastic pellet processing plants in the region has effectively cracked down on the illegal activities of plastic pellet processing.

The production process of these plastic pellet processing projects is backward, there is no environmental approval procedures and pollution control facilities, and the generated wastewater and waste gas are directly discharged, which has a serious impact on the surrounding environment, and the masses have a strong reaction.

On the basis of the preliminary investigation, the Lushan Environmental Protection Bureau issued a notice for the removal of production equipment within a time limit according to the relevant environmental laws and regulations, but there are still 17 plastic pellet processing households that have not dismantled the equipment within the prescribed time limit. In order to completely solve the problem of plastic particle processing pollution, the Lushan Environmental Protection Bureau and the Government of the Maple Town have formulated a centralized demolition plan. More than 60 law enforcement personnel have been dispatched. On August 20 and 26, two batches of plastic pellet processing households were divided into two batches. The production equipment was forcibly removed, and a total of 74 major production equipments were dismantled.
